iPhone 5 – Worth The Wait?

October 10, 2012

Long awaited was the release of the newest Apple product: the iPhone 5, but is it living up to all the hype? Absolutely! With all of the iPhone 5′s improvements and new features, it is one of the greatest electronic debuts of 2012.

1. Longer Battery Life
One of the biggest complaints among consumers about previous versions of the iPhone is that the battery life never lasted nearly long enough. This is most likely because of all the awesome things we can do on our iPhones, so we never want to put them down! But Apple needed to adapt to its users, and adapt it did. According to Apple’s website, the new iPhone battery can last “up to 8 hours of browsing on a cellular connection, up to 8 hours of talk time, and up to 10 hours of video playback time.” Now there is an improvement!

2. Slimmer, Lighter, Sleeker
18% thinner, 20% lighter, 12% volume, and all while accommodating you with a larger screen! Not only is it nicer to hold, but the new Apple product is now made with aluminum, giving it an entirely new look. This takes away the treat of smudging, and makes the product look more elegant in any of the colors it is offered in.

3. Faster Access to the Internet
Apple, with the launch of its new product, has taken advantage of the newest advances in wireless technology. 4G LTE, a standard for wireless transfer of high speed data, is being used on all iPhone 5′s within 4G range. This allows the iPhone 5 to conserve battery life, the fastest connectivity to the internet, and have incredibly quick downloading speeds.

4. Siri Knows All
iPhone users were already very impressed with Siri, but now she has even more information for her Apple consumers. First of all, Siri is now well-versed in the world of sports. She can give scores, team updates, and much more. She can also make recommendations for where you should eat and what movies you should see. Lastly, she is now trained in social media practices, so she can post all of your updates to Facebook and Twitter for you!

5. Can-Do Camera
Not only does this camera take better photos than past models, it also comes with lots of new features. First on this list of new offerings is the panorama feature. Although it was debuted on the iPhone 5, it is also available on iPhone 4s if the software is updated. Next, is the enhanced HD video recording. The video stabilization is much improved, lessening the likelihood that your videos will be shaky. Not only is the normal video application improved, but FaceTime features have been enhanced as well. Unlike previous iPhone models, FaceTime can now work on both 3G and 4G connection as opposed to older models where Wi-Fi was needed.

After going over some of the many new and improved features to the iPhone, most people would agree that this new product was definitely worth the wait. Let’s hope you already bought yours!
