Lifelong Learning: Investing In Yourself

September 10, 2012

Are you scratching your head with Social Media? Last September on of my project manages/partners at the time, Christine Nielsen and I decided to take the leap and update our skills with  Web Friendly. You will remember Matt from our “Summertime Marketing” video – if not, click here. The course was focused on giving us the knowledge to acquire the “Holy Grail” of Social Media at the end which is the “Social Media Director Certification”.

The Cost Crisis

The course wasn’t cheap, and it was a little painful admittedly to sign that cheque, but I have no regrets even after my first class. Because I chose to make and investment in myself. I am improved my skills and focused on building my business. But the truth of this class and many other is the value in networking with a unique commuity that will challenge what we do and open new doors with others that want to work with us!

Happy Business = Happy Person

So why am I telling you about this? It’s not just a blatant sales pitch for the SMD program, it’s a blatant pitch to all you moms out there to INVEST IN YOU! Don’t just look at the cost or timing of a course and immediately dismiss it as too much or as too inconvenient. Consider on-line or distance learning as a great alternative too! Lets look at the investment over time, and the return that the course will bring to your business, life, or relationship and I promise you that no cost will be too great!

Nothing is greater than taking a class and having you mind buzzing with possibilities for what you will achieve in the next year, 5 years, 10 years and how you can make things easier when balancing it all!

5 Questions:

  • What does my business need to succeed?
  • What do my kids need to thrive?
  •  How can I learn how to inspire flourish in my relationships?
  • How can I tap into my creativity?
  • What “#5″ on my list did I drop off after having kids? (Cooking classes, bike race,

How are you challenging your goals?
