Ok lets face it, we’re moms and we already have to fit in about 30 hours worth of work into a 24 hour day. So how do we find the time for self-care for ourselves? I used to fit in “quick” workouts after the kids went to bed (when all I want to do at that time is drink some vino) ….until my darling husband “broke” our ellipitcal trainer for the 2nd time in as many years. Arg!
So now what? Now I have to drag myself to a gym or community center which adds another 30-40 mins in total “exercise time” and that’s time away from my family and business that I just don’t have. So, I started to chat with some of the moms at my son’s elementary school about what they do for exercise. Many of them work out at home, either using Wii Fit, or a workout DVD like Jillian Michaels. I have to admit I was an at home workout skeptic until a firefighter friend of ours told us about INSANITY by BeachBody. Let’s just say, it is as its name promises….insane.
It also doesn’t hurt that “Sean T” is often without his shirt….yum…..
Using the principles of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) most of the first month workouts are done in 40 minutes or less, and I promise you will be on the floor in your pool of sweat by the end.
